Heat is transferred from the hot plate to the stainless steel saucepan by conduction and then convection currents are set up so that the milk is heated up. After which heat reaches X through radiation and convection
2/ The side pf the saucepan are often polished. How does this reduce heat loss?
The sides of the saucepan are often polished, do that the heat lost through radiation is low. Shiny surfaces are poor radiations of heat.
